Does anyone know if R&C offers, or will make you, a one piece straight sop with a bent neck like the YSS 62R. My guess would be go through a dealer? Any dealers out there want to let me know?

Thanks!!!

Before I bought my 62R, I asked the guy at Saxforte if he could special order a R&C with a bent neck. He talked to the factory and they had not problems bending a neck. They could not make any predictions about how it would effect the overall tone and intonation but didn't have a problem putting the bent in.

Or you could get a straight soprano and have a after-market bend put it. There's a currect thread discussion this topic. The one piece bent neck soprano is a GOOD THING. I hate those little soprano necks.

Did you buy one of those 62R's that were on ebay recently? I'm jealous.
At first I thought it might cost a lot extra but then it came to me that the tipped bell is one piece. Maybe just bent neck no tipped bell?

I paid WAY TOO much on e-bay - I think $2,300 but the horn is perfect. 3 digit serial number - closet horn. The original owner bought is in 1987 and played it a few times in college. Since then 18 years in the case - now it's working almost everyday. This is my second 62R - I didn't care for my first one nearly as much as my current 62R. Super sopranos - very RARE. I often wonder why the concept didn't take off more in the mid 80's and early 90's.

Good Luck with your search
