I just received my S992 - using the SR technologies Polycarbonate Legend with Plasticover 4 reed (I never thought I would use a Plasticover on soprano) and an Eddie Daniels ligature this is as close to the sound I have wanted since I began playing soprano ten years ago - Dark, rich, with that elusive buzz. I also have an FL Ultimate ligature on the way and can only imagine what it may do to the setp.

This soprano is amazing - fluid keywork, and spot on intonation. I'm very happy with my purchase. Thanks to all on this board fro providing me with valuable information that led to my decision.

Dear George,

I have also the S992. I like the sound and silky key works of it. I, however, have one problem: stuffy D2 note. I did not have this stuffy D2 problem with my YSS 475. Do you have the same problem. If so, did you try different setups? What is your recommendation?

Thank you in advance.
Howard

Mine is as clear as a bell on my S992. I haven't encountered a stuffy D2 on any soprano, so I don't really know what to suggest, except to have a tech look at it. I have used quite a variety of set-ups on mine and all seem OK.
