Would anyone or everyone find it helpful if we slowly and bit by bit, compiled a glossary of terms and abbreviations. It would be all but impossible to stop people using acronyms and abbreviations for things on the forum. I sometimes get caught out by it and I'm sure many beginners get stumped as to what exactly the old timers are referring to when we talk about a "Link STM," or an "SKRB" etc. I admit I have no idea as to how such a glossary might be compiled, but at this stage I'm just wondering would it be worthwile? Yes/No?
It's one of the things I have in mind.
If you look at the new, improved SML area, you'll see that I have a Lexicon and FAQ. I hope to do this for other areas, too, as well as one for the Forum, in general.
I should, at some point, post a poll and ask whut people think about it. Maybe later.
Seems like a lot of work but I think it would be a valuable resource.
My first request: Yan-a-gasawa is not a Yan-i- nor is a Yamaha a Yami 8-)
Although the moderators' job would be to inform not necessarily re-write, it still might be an opportunity to standardize some of the terms we use here and to encourage people not to use adolescent-isms in their abbreviations.
It's also "VI", NOT "IV". :)
