Low or High Pitch, How to tell???

Hi, is there any other way to tell if my horn is a Low or High Pitch? The serial # and all info has been destroyed/ scratched off. It's a New Wonder Series 2. (1924-1930) If it's a high pitch how can I make it work to play with my jazz band? :? Thanks

Use a tuner and check it out. If you don't have a tuner buy one. Every musician should own one. You can also compare pitches with someone else who plays a bari. Actually you can try to tune to any instrument in a concert key, say Bb. If it is a HP instrument, you'll know right away and there is no way to fix it to play with others.

Thanks, I figured that, so I played safe rather than sorry. I would hate to drop alot of dough on a horn if it ended up beign a high pitch.
