My Yanagisawa S992 was delivered a few days ago and my mouthpieces came yesterday. I am impressed by the intonation, richness and warmth of the soprano and am even more impressed with the polycarbonate SR legend mouthpiece I received. Although I have never liked plasticover reeds on soprano before, the combination of the SR, Plasticover 4 and Eddie Daniels Lig gets me 99.9% to where I want to be tonewise with the S992 - very rich and warm, with the elusive buzz I have been after.
For anyone looking for a more vintage sound, the SR legend soprano piece may get you there. Of course different mouthpieces respond differently for everyone, this just happens to work for me.
Thanks to all that have helped.
