Once upon a time, I had a Selmer Signet Alto of approximately a 1983 year model vintage. I was trying equipment somewhat recently and happened upon a Bundy II that I tried for a while. I saw some pics of a Signet and got to wondering if it was simply a Bundy II in gold. Is this the case? The BII played OK, but was nothing spectacular. I recall my old Signet playing pretty well although I thought my buddies Yamaha had better key action. I don't recall what he had (20 plus years ago), but it was smoother. So the question for this is, does anyone know if the Signet of early 80s "vintage" is a rebadged Bundy II (for a premium/intermediate) sax? What I have now is a Vito (Yas-23 Clone) that plays adequate for the task.

Thanks

The Bundy and Aristocrat were the same horn and the Signet and Buescher 200 were often the same and as you mentioned lacquered keys. Selmer always played the model game and often a lesser model will play better than the high end model.

I have a Signet alto from the 60's that looks just like a Buescher Aristocrat. It has the S brace and left side bell toneholes. It's a lot nicer than a YAS-23.
