Question for Dave Dolson and Other S992 players...

Dave, I remember you had mentioned you were using a super session with your S992 (I could be wrong). What facing and reed are you using.

I received my S992 today and was only able to try it with my Link Tone Master (not STM) 8* w/ RJS filed 4M reed and it sounds great. I have four other mouthpieces on the way:

Selmer Super Session J
Pomarico Wood 7J
Lawton 8B
SR Legend Metal

What mouthpieces have other S992 players found to be synergistic?

George: I use a Super Session J with Rico Jazz Select 2, Vandoren Java 2, or Rico Royal 2 reeds and a standard Selmer metal lig on my S992 (and the same set-ups with my SC902 and my Buescher TT straight).

I hope you receive as much enjoyment with your S992 as I have with mine . . . don't know about being synergistic, though. DAVE

On mine I use a Selmer Metal Classic D or a a Selmer S80 E. I also tried a heap of metal pieces and found the Runyon Metal Quantum to work really well, though I didn't keep it as I am really a classical player. The Bari Hawk was also superb on this horn. I use Vandoren V16 2.5 reeds and find they help make the higher notes secure.
