Well, I've been communicating with Tim at Sax Alley and Junk Dude. TIm doesn't have anymore in stock at the moment, but once he gets some in it will be another week before it ships out. I would really like to get his horn setup, but Junkdude has them in stock and says they play through them and fix anything that's wrong. So, that might be good enough. They both have the 67R with the turqoise looking keys. Neither of them have the engraved horns, which are $100 extra. I figure I'll save that $100 and send it to Jason Dumars, whenever he gets some time :).

that's great to hear.

Did you win the lottery? Buying this sax and the shadow?

*edit. I just read another one of your posts in the alto section and someone else asked you the same question hehe. It was you that won the Powerball awhile back wasn't it? :) of course ... if you found an easy get rich scheme..... pm me :D

Placed my order with Tim at Sax Alley.... Junkdude sold out and won't have anymore until next Monday. Tim's been great and I figure his horn setup wouldn't be bad to have at all :). I'm estimating about a week or 2 before receipt. I'm exercising patience, but I'll have another horn this Wednesday to keep my busy. :D

Tims set up is fantastic. Once you have it set that way you'll wonder if you can find anybody local to match it. At least that was my opinion. K

Well, the 67R came in today and I am loving it. With my Runyon Quantum it really screams... like really... :). I was pushing it and it felt like I could have pushed it even more. An awesome feeling. Like everyone mentioned the notes pop out easily and are even from low Bb all the way to Palm D. It is really a joy playing it. It is a beautiful horn. The antique finish puts a smile on my face when I look at it. Here are a few pics....

Although the Runyon screams, it is really bright and somewhat annoying to me on this horn. I wont be able to buy another piece for awhile though. So, it will have to do. I would like something less bright for this horn. I am in love with this horn, though. Everything I've read about the P. Mauriat's has served to be true. Once I find the right piece and reed combo it will be a winner. I can't imagine a more perfect horn. Since, Im happy with it there is no reason for me to look for another.
Happy Blowing!!!

Oops... didn't mean those to be in the pic.... That was gift from a friend 5 years ago... young and stupid. My last name is Broadway and he thought that would be a cool gift :|

My friend and I used to "borrow" street signs in our youth.:( Especially girls were trying to impress.:D It is a beautiful horn and I've gotten plenty of comments from people about the "patina" of it. Joel, try a Kessler New York from Kesslers in Vegas. I think he'd let you trial one with a CC.?? I don't play much alto and as you've heard I can get tone and intonation down quickly with that piece on my old (60s) Buescher alto. K

I just bought a 67 (non R) from Dave. I love it. I have a Morgan "vintage" on it and it sounds great to me (rank amatuer). All the notes just bubble out of the horn. It's soft and smooth and if I want to rattle windows it does that too. Playing a ballad is like eating a hot fudge sundae!.
