It's a good intermediate-to-high intermediate saxophone. It is pretty good.

Actually plenty of professional types have made a living with the 62 series horns.

Thanks for The Info. I am puirchasing a YTS-62 as my first sax after 3 years of renting. I plan to buy a YTS-62 but they are all very expensive! :D

I guess everyone's idea of expensive is different. As a pro line horn goes, the 62 is actually a very good value.

I played the alto (YAS62II).
It was quite nice. I was able to compare it with the Selmer USA AS-110 and my own Selmer Series III alto.

The Yamaha was definitely better than the AS-110 but I liked my Series III better than the Yamaha. Maybe 'cause I'm just more accustomed to my own horn?

Anyway, I've always liked the Yamaha 62 series better than the Yamaha Customs. (I haven't tried the new Custom Z yet)
