Hello....does anyone know Places to see and maybe buy good Vintage Horns in Miami? I will soon stop over there on my way to Jamaica (visitinjg my Daughter) and I would like to take the time to see if anything nice will show up..

Only places I'm aware of in Miami is to check out pawn shops, yard sales, and occasionally the Haileigh Flea Market... but those places usually don't turn up anything. There's 2 Sam Ash music stores in Miami, the one in Miami Lakes doesn't have anything vintage, and the one in Kendall only has a silver plated "Chu Berry" alto for $1200.
IMO, you'd probably be better off driving 40min north to Ft. Lauderdale which seems to have an abundance of pawn shops, thrift shops & check out the Ft. Lauderdale Swap Shop (humongous outdoor/indoor flea market).

South Florida is NOT the place to come if you're looking for a horn.
I had to take a trip up to Prowinds in Indiana earlier this year to audition and buy a pro-level tenor. Glad I did.
(Oh and the Swap Shop wont help you either... I lived just a few miles from there for 15 years and never saw an instrument there...)

I've bought 2 Conns, and a Buescher there in the past 5-6 years... you just need to go out in the outskirts ;). I regularly see clarinets & trumpets there everytime I go. Also every few months they have antique shows which usually bring out nice instruments.
