I have a SML tenor sax, how do I find the age of this sax?
Also does it have any value?
It looks like it is in perfect shape.

These are excellent horns. Plated ones, of course, are worth a bit more than the lacquered ones. Putting a monetary value on an unseen horn is difficult, and if you find a buyer that really wants it, he/she will probably pay a bit more than whatever the average price is. I'm in Seattle; in the past five years I've seen about three or four of these sell, and the most one went for was $1800US. It was in excellent condition, and was a relatively uncommon gold-plated version. It played very well, too. I prefer Selmers, King S20's, and Conns (later Chu's and 10m's), but I'm not everybody. The SML's have a big, relatively dark sound. I find them a bit heavy.
