I am considering playing Euphonium next year. My main concern is how euphonium will affect my alto embouchure. What is the best and most effective way to face a new instrument. Ive been buzzing on a mouthpiece and my sound is really airy. What is the best way to concentrate my sound? Thanks SOTW'ers

Just buzzing on the mouthpiece is going to be really airy to begin with. there isn't anything there for a sound to start coming out. It shouldn't affect your embouchure that much as long as you still play sax a bit. What model Euph are you using?

I've doubled on trombone and sax for more than 35 years. It can be done but requires a lot of maintenance practice. If you put down the brass for a couple of weeks and continue playing sax, you'll really feel it when you go back to the brass. Just make sure you get in at least half an hour or more of daily embouchure work and you can get away with this odd but fun double.

Of course if you're new to the brass, you should seek out a good instructor so you are developing the correct way...
