Anyone have any pics (or links to pics) of a Chicago Jazz horn? I want to see what they look like, but LA Sax only has one small fuzzy image of each finish on its website, and WWBW has nothing close-up, either.

Here's a link to a recent ebay listing of mine with pictures:

Thanks Jerry, now I have a somewhat better idea of what they were doing on the keys. Did you feel that the CJ is built as well as your Allora?
Either I'm hallucinating or WWBW had at least one zoom-up of their CJ tenors, but it's gone now that they're on close-out. Typical of me to get interested in a horn when it's exiting the market. I've placed an order but it's been awhile....

Did you feel that the CJ is built as well as your Allora? Same horn, different finish. My tenor is the sand finish. The gentleman I sold this horn to said it was nearly identical to high Guardala Tenor, with the only difference being the engraving.

Hopefully ??? I'll find out firsthand soon enough, but a lot of people "in the biz" have been telling me to avoid the Earthtone or sand finishes as they turn grungy after awhile and are almost impossible to clean up.
I've been told this is because the sand finish is on brass, not a metal plating, and that the finish does not have a protective lacquer coating. In other words, the Earthtone/sand finish is bare brass!
If all this is true, I'm wondering.... could one apply a protective lacquer coat of some kind that does not compromise the look of the original finish? I've been told by at least one dealer that the answer is "no."

Oh well, the issue for me is somewhat moot now, as I decided to order a plain lacquer model.
One thing I did read -- about the Guardalas -- is that their Earthtone model was coated with a lacquer that cured to a matte finish. So it's still not clear to me whether Earthones under any other name are bare or not... They sure look great in the pics!
