Looks like a good SDA going for a steal? If it was tenor of the same year I think I'd be jumping at it.

Any other SDA owners out there? Just wondering what the going price for them usually is these days. I paid a lot more than this e-bay one for mine, but got to play it for a good half-hour before taking the plunge...so no regrets.

That is a nice catch. I'm surprised no one used the buy it now option. I've got a seller around my area, he has an old "Master Model" buffet up for sale. The Master MOdel is supposedly identical to the SDA except for the name engraved on the body. He's got it up for $465 maybe? It's ugly as hell with the lacquer, but physically it only has two dents and thats it. I was thinking about buying it and then sending it to Sarge or Goodson for some top quality rebuilds and make this one a player....I've played on her a little bit......got a lot of potential, especially since the pads arent great and the dents even....hmmm.....must resist.....saxophone.........................
Sheesh! It didn't sell! I was tempted to press the "buy it now" button myself, but I already have 2 SDA altos. I'm disappointed that so few people were interested in what looks like a great sax. I should sell one of mine but I guess I'll wait until the prices go higher. Maybe its anti-France hysteria that will die down with time.

I think the one photo shows it looking like a very tatty horn, that would put me off.

Yeah, I linked to what was probably the worst (or most revealing) picture of the bunch. There were about 4-5 others where it didn't look bad at all for a 35-40 year old horn.
