Altissimo G

for some reason I cant hit it...I can hit a high C but not a G :( any help?

The G takes some practice.....you have to "voice" it just right, using subtle throat & tongue adjustments. Be careful on your attack. Attack it gently, then once you hit the note increase the air speed. If you attack it too hard or overblow too much, it will jump up to C# or D. With practice, you can slur from G3 up to D3, using the OK, front F, side Bb fingering.

Try using the Rovner canvas single screw ligature...if the G doesn't sound out clearly try adjusting the ligature screw by tightening or loosening untill all the altissimo notes sound out clearly. Works for me.
