HI,
I am new to this site and reasonably new to the sax. I have been playing the alto at college for nearly a year but would love to try the baritone. I have been offered the chance to buy a Bauscher, true tone model its about 70 years old, recently professionally rebuilt due to some damage done - but apparently works and sounds great. The guy is retiring and wants $1100 dollars for it. My questions are do I buy it? Am I being too adventurous at such an early stage? Is this sax getting past its best date...if thats possible........would I be better holding off and buying a newer model, as I have heard the older saxes are very hard to play and tempermental. Hope someone can advise me.
Regards
