I will have to send one of them back unless they both play as good as my 1958 or 1959 MarkVI did before it was stolen in 1964.

Be prepared to send the Yani back. Totally different sounds, though. One is pure and sweet, and the other is big and husky. It depends on what kind of sound you're looking for.
Where did you order them from?

I got the Mauriat from SaxAlley. Tim's at a wedding in Florida. He'll be back on the 3rd and will go over it and send it then.
I ordered the Yanagisawa from Music 123 I told them about Tim at SaxAlley and they said they would put their best tech on the Yanagisawa. We'll see!
Sound to me is 2nd place. I haven't heard many tenor sounds I didn't like yet if the guy could play. If you can't play what good is the sound gonna do for ya?

Couple of watchouts on the P. 1. is that the horn has plastic, not real pearls making it extremely wise to watch where the tech puts the blow torch flame. (they'll catch fire, I know from the Armstong tenor I tryed to repair with my music medic kit) 2. I took it the best tech around here and he was going to look at a couple of pads out of adjustment and see if they had enough shellac to float them properly or if in a cost cutting move they only used a little of that white glue to glue in the pad but not enough to support the cardboard all around the cup??? Not major stuff but something to be aware of. This is the best local tech around here. When he heard about the other guys and their feree keycup bending tools he cringed. It was set up welll by Tim, and I should have watched who I took it to here. K

Which one do you consider 'big and husky'?
