I did a site search and it looks like the last information posted on pricing for the soprillo was in early 2004 - 1800 Euros, plus the usual shipping, etc.

Yesterday I had a chance to play with a legend of the soprano saxophone (at least in trad jazz), George Probert of the famous Firehouse Five plus Two. George and I go way-back.

He asked me if I knew anything about the soprillo, then showed me an old magazine article about them. I said I'd heard of them. He wanted to know how to buy one and how much they cost. He does not have Internet.

So, can anyone here tell me what they know about pricing and availability at current dates. Thanks! DAVE

Shoot Mr. Eppelsheim an email. He'll know if anyone.

Dave,

I was really curious when I saw this thread. I thought to myself: Dave doesn't like to play to the top of his soprano and doesn't like it when others do either, he thinks that gentlemen don't play sopraninos in public, and NOW he wants to buy a soprillo!? So, I was relieved to read your explanation.

I remember the old Firehouse Five plus Two LPs. Fun records.

Bones: You are right, but I'd do most anything for friend. If that means hooking him up with one of those nasty beasts, I'll do it.

Brendan: I checked the Epplesheim web-site but they had nothing about pricing. I'll consider the e-mail to the boss after I get back to George with whatever I learn from here. DAVE

Last time I checked with Eppelsheim with current Euro prices and including shipping, tax, customs etc, it would cost $2345.76. There is also a waiting list, and you have t wait six months on the list.
