There's an antigua tenor for sale, and I need some help, is it worth taking a chance on the horn as it is an "As Is" auction? The serial that's given is "SR# 80013XX." No model or year given, the horn looks to have gold keys, but I know that doesn't neccessarily mean "pro" or anything, and that's Okay with me.
Background: I got burned on a Simba tenor on Ebay for the same price, $199, the brand was not mentioned and it was sold to me as new but wasn't. Anyway, long sad story, still awaiting my refund on that junk-- I'm a bit compulsive and couldn't pass up the under $200 pricetag just to have a tenor to learn on...
Should I take a chance on this Antigua Winds tenor thing? I am a hobbyist, I play alto in a community marching band and love jazz, so I'd like to try tenor to add to my woodwind experiences. I have no professional aspirations, I just want something that sounds nice, a retro-dark tone would be nice, but my repairman said I could probably do that with a mouthpiece/ligature combo.

thanks for reading!

Ava, visit me and read my sax saga... among other things!!
