Hi guys, and especially Edmontonians......
We're looking to set up a small-ish (16 piece?) saxophone ensemble/choir - I think we have somewhere to practice, and a willing audience, but I'm at a loss as to where to start - music is not really a problem as I can transpose from other ensemble scores, but how to get other players interested, how to 'lead' such an ensemble (does it need a leader initially??) - I guess what I'm asking is how to pull this all together. We initally hope to set up with players in the range of grades 3-7 ability level. Any and all ages/abilities really - this will be just for fun/experience initially, but who knows!!
Hope some of you experienced band leaders will be able to give me some pointers (pitfalls etc!!) - and, all interested Edmontonians, please contact me if you're interested in being a part of this!
Thanks!
