I have a Bundy by Selmer Bb Tenor with the goldflake finish (as opposed to brass). At one time I found some infromation on the web about this type of horn but I have lost the info and now can't find reference to it. Anyone have any insight to these horns? I played it as a student and have had it for about 30 years.

It's a student horn virtually identical to the Buescher Aristocrat 200. The gold-flake-epoxy finish was used on marching-band instruments. I've seen at least a couple that were white, too.

I've played both Buescher and Bundy horns with the gold-flake finish.

They're fairly rugged horns and play "decently". Not good, not bad, just "decent". For years I've told people that if they want to get young Johnny or Suzie a new saxophone to play and they thought the horn would be beaten up, to get a Bundy. If the horn will be treated with some respect, beginning students should get a Yamaha.
