Jazz drummer Stan Levey died April 19th at age 79. Saxophonists may know him as the drummer on the album "Getz Meets Mulligan in Hi-Fi."

Stan Levey was one of the best of the West Coast drummers. He was with Stan Getz on several of the West Coast sessions. Before that, he was with Kenton in the "New Concepts" band that featured Lee Konitz.
