View Full Version : A problem with phamton adapter..
I have a AKG C419 clip-mic and I want to record my sax playing with my minidisc. So my question is that how can I convert that phantom adapter to a "normal mini-plug" (and to have power on that mic)? Some kind
of battery box is needed?
Thanks,
Tuomas

I believe that there is an AKG battery pack available for the C-419 clip on mics. Check on the AKG website.

how are you using the mic currently? phantom power from a mixer or pre amp? output for either of those devices should work.

The Battery pack for the clip has a XLR to go to the PA and could be transformed to mini at Radio Shack or music stores with adaptors.
Many boards have Aux sends that are out 1/4 jacks. If the board has inserts you can grab a signal there.
The above post is right - you just would need an adaptor from your normal end jack.
I think the input volume on the mini disc could be a much bigger issue. Can you set that record volume?
