Hi Everyone,
I went and rented an Alto Sax today ...Can't wait to get started. I have to tell you what the guy at the music store told me. he said " I give lessons but I really don't like to teach adults because they think that because they made it through High school and college that they know everything and that makes them think that learning an instrument will be a breeze" he also mentioned that one of his worst adult students is a Nurse :x
As I was leaving he asked me if I wanted to schedule a lesson. :o

Well, Vicki, life's full of toads. Unfortunately a kiss ain't gonna make any difference with this one. It shows not only his lack of judgement but a complete lack of maturity. Look on the bright side. You're lucky he said what he said when he said it and saved you some grief in the future. What a jerk!

"...he also mentioned that one of his worst adult students is a Nurse."
LOL. I wonder what the chances of his winding up on her emergency room bed would be. Man, now that would be some instant Karma! heh, heh.

You'll find a good teacher, no problem. Patience my dear!

Go Vicki :)

Yeah I agree with Gary and probably your inner voice. You got an early warning with this one. Have a further look round until you find a tutor you like. I "passed" on my first one, I got bad vibes within minutes of meeting him but Ive since found two others, one literally just round the corner from where I live and so far he sounds great. First lesson is Friday.

I`m sure you`ll have similar luck :)

Definitely a fortunate conversion! He sounds like a real winner. One of the reasons I chose my teacher was that he had the exact opposite attitude. He told me he was happy when he heard that he was going to be working with an adult student because adults are more serious about learning, and are doing it because they want to, not because a parent is pushing them into it.

Good luck!
