View Full Version : case for TT soprano
I just got a True Tone soprano from Gayle at vintagesax.com - it came in the original case (or something like it...). It's very cool! :D
It doesn't seem terribly practical for real world use, though. What are you keeping your TT sops in?
Thanks!

Likewise, the Protec soprano case.

Protec, it works well and fits the Buescher like a glove.

I bought a generic soprano case off of eBay a year or so ago - hard shell covered in black vinyl; three chrome locks and chrome metal-trimmed corners. My TT fits perfectly in it - and the price was right. A much better fit than the Pro-Tecs I have.
Sorry - I don't recall the source now (I lost everything in an upgrade to XP-Pro) and there is no name on the case. I agree the original TT case is cool but impractical - plus kinda unsafe with the handle on the top of the lid.
If you must use the original case, may I suggest keeping a short belt or bingee-cords around the case to keep it from opening accidentally and dumping your horn. DAVE
Is this it? (scroll to the bottom for soprano)

I found a reference to DEG cases in another thread - having a search function rules!

I have my curved TT in a DEG case. It's very basic, but sturdy enough to take on the job.

Max: That sure looks like the one I bought, but the name DEG was not associated with it. Mine was auctioned on eBay by a retailer (forgot the name and location now) and I think he had several for auction at the time. I nabbed one.
It is for fixed-neck straight sops and has a little area up by the neck for mouthpieces and reeds. That area does not have a cover (in mine, anyway) but when the lid closes, the top of the lid covers that area so the accessories do not move around. The horn is well braced by a slot for the bell as well as for the neck. The inside is well padded, too, and the closed lid gently presses the horn into the padding. Works for me! DAVE
