1) I would like to know if this Guardala is Pro custom model (DG-501BN) ?
I've seen their Artist model (DG-500BN) but the engraving is completely different and not that much.
2) How is the pro Custom model compare with Artist?

I can't help you with comparison of the various Guardalas, but the one I played looked exactly like that one on eBay. They are very nice horns, they have a well-engineered solid feel like a Keilwerth, although the keys feel smaller in the hands. I was very impressed with the Guardala, I enjoyed playing it and it had a good sound. The one I saw (at saxophones.co.uk) was very expensive, however, and at the time I slightly preferred the Selmer Ref 54, which was what I bought.

Tears, I've tried both, and I couldn't really tell a huge difference between the two horns. I did try a silver B&S tenor (very similar horn since they were made by VMI) that blew both out of the water. The price for ebay seems a little high. I've seen a few of the same horn sell for about $1500 in last 6 months. B&S tenors (and the various stencils ) are my favorite modern tenors right now; I haven't tried the new Goodson Unison yet. These horns have a sound somewhere between a Selmer and a Keilwerth. Of all the modern horns I've tried, these seem the closest to the vintage American sound of days gone by.

1) So, the horn post in ebay is the Pro Custom model?
2) If I can get a brand new Artist model (DG-500BN) for price US$3190. Is it a good price you think?
I would like to consider a Ref 36 and DG-500BN. I never test the Ref 36 but I think it should match my taste.

Read the comparative reviews on the saxophones.co.uk website, under 'sax tests'. These were the instruments I tried and the reviews were written by Steve Birtwistle, who is a fine player. I can't help you any more than that. You won't be disappointed with either sax so go ahead, buy one and enjoy!
