I just saw Will Ferrell play "jazz flute" as Ron Burgundy in Anchorman. Quite impressive! I am thinking of incorporating some of Ron's pyrotechniques into my club act.

Strange... I got done watching this movie for the first time about two hours after your post. His performance was very impressive! Stomping wine glasses, the flaming liquor... quite the show

How was the actual playing?
There was also that Saturday Night Live skit in which he and Cheri Oteri (I think) played two teachers at a school Renaissance fair, and a third teacher (Tim Meadows?) played jazz flute.
I thought the actual playing was very well done.

Cool. One of my personal favorite flute solos is Eric Dolphy's on Stolen Moments (Oliver Nelson: Blues and the Abstract Truth).

he sounds like Rahsaan Roland Kirk playing the "vocal flute". BTW, the name of the flute player in the credits is "Marc Ellis". and that movie is HILARIOUS!!!!!

that scene has done for jazz flute players what 'Deliverance' has done for the banjo
