just bought used YAS-62, a quick question

i just bought a used yas-62, 2000 canadian $(about 5 USD;))

i sent yamaha an email and they told me my sax was made in may 89, although by looking at it, you would think its new, almost no wear, looks like it was used for a month or so and forgotten for years.

anyways, i find that it plays superbly, even better than my selmer S80II alto, everything is perfect about it, i even like my sound with it, but i find it maybe a tad brighter than i am used to.

i was wondering, would a new neck change that, and which one, i know that yamaha necks are also compatible with selmer yanagisawa and others, so i know im not limited to yamaha necks, but music stores are about 6 hours away from here, so id like to hear the opinions of people who have tried different setups.

i usually play vith a otto link metal for jazz and with a selmer C** for classical, and my beef is really in the classical department,

im playing debussy's rhapsody and glazounov'sconcerto formy final exam this year and id like a bit darker sound while usingmy yam, cause id like not to play with my selmer:P

instead of dropping the cash for a new neck i'd recommend you look into either a vintage selmer soloist in about a c* at the most open, or a rousseau NC4. a new neck could possibly help but the changes in pitch tendencies could be far more difficult to deal with than a new mpc.
