Yes, albeit not verifiable. Probably made by Dorfler & Jorga, a Nauheim firm assimilated by Keilwerth.

thanks, wally, if you're still out there.....sax pics does have a dorfler & jorga bari with identical bell engraving as this rene dumont, claiming it to have a keilwerth body...same body as on some e-bay entries claiming to be keilwerth stencils....unmistakable wide crook design allowing no octave key on the neck, this, on a low Bb only keywork...not too pleased with the keywork, though, had to make many changes, but oh, the keilwerth sound!..that's what i'm talkin 'bout...thanks again wally, that was good info!

Hey don't mention it (I changed my handle here...).

Trivia sidenote: seems there were some other hornmakers that used that "Rene Dumont" moniker from time to time on their own stencils. Can't recall who at the moment, but I'm pretty certain Doefler and Jorga weren't alone. (Besides, who was R. D.?)

I have a D&J "Roxy" tenor I just finished restoring. Quite ergonomic, heavy-set and deep-dark tone. A real joy to play. Also have a D&J "Rene Dumont" version: same body, very slight differences in keywork and neck bore, much less ergonomic LH pinkie spatula (my left hand cramps easily with this horn, and krappy lacquer job has me wondering if it weren't designed for students....) But man, what a monster, even with its old reso-less pads.

Some Rene Dumonts are Kohlert 55 stencils.
