anyone have any experience with Lessons By Maill, notably the ones offered by Skip Spratt on www.saxshed.com
?
Earlier this year he did a fine piece with play-along CD in Saxophone Journal and plays/teaches the kind of music I like, but the website doesn't contain much specific about what or how it is taught, and for Late Bloomers who also work, and don't have a suitable teacher (I live in a small town, too far from city with sax teachers), this might be a good option?
Let me hear from someone who had tried these.

I found saxshed.com a couple of days ago, and was also interested in the lessons by mail. Unfortunately, the links on the site for a complete description and free sample lesson don't work. I've emailed Skip, and hope to hear from him. If anyone has had any experience with lessons by mail, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

Skip has another play-along CD out in this months issue of Saxophone Journal. Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet but if it's anything like the first one, it's going to be great stuff. I also have emailed Skip about the broken links. Sure wish he would fix those so I can see what the lessons by mail is all about

Skip emailed me back. I had told him that I was an absolute beginner, and he told me that his Lessons by Mail are geared towards students with some experience. I've decided to take lessons locally.

Al - do you subscribe to Saxophone Journal? Or do you pick it up at the newwsstand? I haven't been able to find it locally.

I subscribe to it and even though some may disagree, I find it is well worth the money in play-along CDs and master classes alone. You might look for it at Borders or B&N. Good luck..
