Hi all,

So I just started blogging, we'll see if it continues, as I don't have copious amounts of free time. Any of you do the blog thing?

The reason that I started was because I found a site that hosts blogs for free, that has a lot of neat features (I'm not associated with this site in ANY way, other than they host my blog), including a little button that you can put on your toolbar to blog whatever page you happen to be on, as well as this REALLY cool feature that allows you to do audio blogging. Basically what you do, is you call this number (not toll free, but for those of us with cell phones in the US, it's great) and you record a blog entry and then this site posts it onto your blog in mp3 format. I think that's a pretty neat thing myself.

Anywho, for those of you interested, my blog is http://shangomoons.blogspot.com/

Anybody else do this?

Chris S

we live in voyeuristic times. should be pretty obvious judging by the sudden massive influx of reality-based programs on TV and web-blogs/journals. although i browse the blogs of others from time to time, i never really got around to starting one of my own. mainly cos of a total lack of interest and motivation, partly cos of the paranoia associated with having too many people read it and/or having nobody read it at all. haha.

all that mumbo-jumbo said, nice blog. simply-designed, but pretty nice content. now, how about some recordings? haha.

Is "blog" just another name for your own personal webpage?

blogging is basically a journal... same kind of idea as having your own webpage... you can put what ever you want on their... articles you like, what you did today that kind of thing

I've been blogging for six months now. I was fanatical about it for a while.
My blog has player features, MP3s, Jazz streaming videos, harmony lessons, links, practice ideas, improvisation lessons, Jazz book reviews, and much more.

I started out by advertising for free on Craig's lists all over the world. I get about a hundred hits a day. You can also register with Blog search engines and with web sites like All About Jazz.

My blog is: http://davidvaldez.blogspot.com

Hope you enjoy it!

I use www.livejournal.com

It's free and you can connect/make friends with people that share your interests. It's funny that out of the hundreds of thousands of people on that site, only 5 (including myself) like the contrabass sax. :)

I'm not too voyeuristic, so I don't give out my screen name and I keep a lot of my thoughts private. But it's great when you have friends and family that want to read your journal. One great thing about livejournal, is that you can set your privacy settings for each post to public, private or friends. :) Another is that you don't have any adverts on any of the pages. You can use Rss/XML feeds and all the other techie stuff. :)

It's funny, with my LJ journal, I say things I don't have the nads to say in real life, that gives me a feeling of freedom really. (I don't flame people or anything, but I simply say what I want, something I never have the luxury of in RL.)
But I'm weird. Enjoy your blogs, maybe I'll stop by. :)
