I can not find the detailed information on saxophones of mark "Reynolds" in Internet.
Saxpics writes only as about Martin or SML stensils.
Did Reynolds make the original saxophones?

 Thanks

I apologize for my English (I wrote "information on saxophones" instead "information about saxophones").
Pete (Saxpics) has told me, that saxophones "Reynolds" were made in the different countries. Somebody knows who made such saxophones?

I remember seeing a Reynolds on ebay a while back ( a year or two) that looked exactly like my Buffet SDA, had the tell tale bell brace. Bear at Cybersax agreed with me that it could have been a Buffet stencil.

Take a real close look at anything marked Reynolds "Contempera" (I may not be spelling this right). I think that the saxophones were stenciled by SML. A trombone a while back on eBay looked like a Couesnon Monopole stencil. A lot of sleepers are out there under this title.

Martin, SML, and Buescher are three companies that I know of that stencilled horns for reynolds. There may be more.

There's a Reynolds on Ebay that is advertised as a King stencil. Any comments?

It looks Buescher to me. Even though you can only see the back of the octave mechanism, it looks Buescher. King octave mechanisms are way more complicated.

Also, the King key cups are domed. Funny thing, though. I have a Reynolds tenor that is a Martin stencil and it has the same bell key guard with the "R" cut out.

Not that I'm an expert or anything, but I agree with LBAjazz.

My first impression was Buescher, based on the shape of the bell. That long slender look, to me, says Buescher.

Yes it does look Buescherish

I have an alto reynolds that look just like this. It's a buescher stencil. nice horn. has an unusual G# mechanism that make it easy to adjust. I'm sure this horn would play great but I can't believe it went for $660.00. Ive seen Aristocrats go for less.

I've had these too. These are Buescher Model 20A (alto) and 30A (tenor) second line horns. Even the one in the Martin Stencil section of saxpic's site is a 20A, not a Martin.

One thing that sets the Reynolds apart from other 20A/30A stencils is the very nice engraving and the fancy key guards. These are great horns. The two bidders must have wanted the Reynolds really bad to raise the price over $600 for it.

For a long time I thought these were "The Martin ..." stencils due to the misinformation on saxpic's site. Could be that someone else thought they were getting a nice "The Martin" for cheap. That's why I ended up buying my Reynolds alto. When I got it, I was disappointed that it wasn't a Martin, but it is a very nice horn.
