I'll be in Halifax from Apr. 24-27. What are the good jazz venues? Is Maxwell's still there?

I'm willing to try Seattle again...but I don't like dark roasted coffee. And don't get me started on the weather - I used to live in Vancouver.

Halifax is a very cosmopolitan place and a college town so every type of music should be available. I was there 2 years ago and there are 2 or 3 weekly entertainment newspapers so chances of tracking down a jazz place are very good.
I am going to St. John's NF next tuesday and will be on the lookout for entertainment there. I know there is all kinds of Irish and Scottish heritage music but my friend there tells me that Jazz and Blues are almost non-existant.

Update: Traditonal Irish-celtic music is king in Newfoundland. There is some thrash music in St. John's and a blues club called the "Fat Cat".
There is a piano bar above Zapata's Restaurant. NO JAZZ!
