Antigua sops in the UK???

Hi, I desperately want to try/get an Antigua sop, and I've done a bit of research on suppliers in the UK to no success. Does anyone have any info on the subject? BTW i mean the new ones!

Give them a call, tell them where you are, and they will inform you of your nearest Antigua dealer. I was staggered to learn of an Antigua dealer in my home town !

I ordered my Sop blind (Stentor were not clued up on which model was which) but when it arrived in store, as soon as I saw it I knew it was a 590.

I have to say I am baffled at the lack of promotion over here though. Shocking !

Thanks alot mate! I wanna get a 582 model! How d'ya think i should go about this? Phone 'em tommororow and ask them to get a 582 in, or will they not know which type of antigua that is? How did you get them to get the 590 model, and not something else?

However, if there is a local dealer that will give you a fair enough price, get it from them. Especially since we are across the pond from each other, service is always a little easier when you dont have to ship it half way round the globe.

By all means call them but be aware the model numbers are identified slightly different from the U.S - I think they are '4'582 here, and 'A'582 in the US. (Or vice versa).

Just ask Stentor if they have the latest models in stock - Once confirmed, ask for your nearest dealer. Stentor will NOT sell direct to you.
I believe they may only have the 590 Sop models which sell for £475 approx. You can probably get that down to £440. We all like a bargain but these prices are just stupid :shock:

If it has that 'YS' serial number that Dave has discussed before, then you're in business.

Try John Myatt's - http://www.myatt.co.uk they stock Antigua , but do check they're the newer models , I recall a post on the old forum last year saying that the Antigua's available in the UK were the older (less good) models , but things may have changed since then .

Did you ever locate an Antigua Dealer in the Uk that sells the same models as Dave Kessler?

Any that I have found appear to sell Antiguas with different model numbers (4553 and 4554)and I,m unsure if they are the same models that Dave sells. In fact they are not as Stentor Music say that the ones they have correspond closely to the US models which must mean they are different in some way.

These 4553 and 4554 models do not appear on the Antigua Web site.

Any info would be appreciated.

Neither of these sellers are advertising the latest sops - Not at those prices anyway. My local stockist advises me they have gone up but we're waiting to hear how much - I'm after replacing my silver plated 590 in favour of a standard brass lacquered model (Less polishing...I'm lazy) but I ain't selling until I find out how much they are going for now though !!
