Hello,
Does anybody know where there's a Jupiter dealer near me that might have an Artist series alto I can try? The two Sam Ash's I've been to didn't stock them.
I inquired at the Jupiter website about a local dealer, and did not recieve an answer.
I'm located about 60 miles North of Philadelphia, and about 80 miles West of NYC.
THNXS!

I am surprized that nobody from the NYC/PHILADELPHIA areas responded to this post. It doesn't seem like Jupiter is trying to market their horns in the largest metropolitan area of the East coast USA.
I was lucky enough to own a Jupiter JAS 869 for a couple of months. I bought it used off of E-Bay and right after that a friend offered me a deal on his King tenor, so I sold the Jupiter to USA Horn (Kenilworth, NJ) to help pay for the King. I'm playing mostly soprano and tenor these days, but if I were concentrating more on alto, the Jupiter would have been a keeper. It was fun to play and had a lively sound when used with a Yanagisawa #7 metal mouthpiece and a Plasticover #3.
If anybody in the NYC/NJ/PHILLY area wants to test play a Jupiter Artist Series alto, it might still be at USA Horn. The prices for new Jupiter Artists seem to have gone up, so buying a used one may be the best way to go. I think that you get a lot for your money with these horns. 8-)

I wanted to let any interested parties know where they might be able to test play one of theses horns. The one I had was fantastic and might still be available

Hey Inauman,
If you are willing to drive up to Montreal (7 hours from NYC), you will find the artist series jupiter horns at Steve's Music Store on 61 St-Antoine street. It's worth the drive because they sell them cheap and the price is in canadian dollars, so it makes it very economical if you are american. I just bought a 547BL soprano for $700 CAN. It sounds great for the price. I have a friend who plays an alto artist series and she says that she likes it almost as much as her MK VI.

Don't know where yoy can get one, but I love mine. Good tone, easy to play, and I like the way the silver and goold looks. The silver neck is great for the tone.
