I WANT THAT BASS! But, since I can't afford it myself, I'm going to try and convince my band director to buy it.

Have any of you guys had any problems?

There are other threads discussing Dave @ Junkdude. I have yet to hear anything negative. I have spoken with him regularly and his level of customer service and desire to please is outstanding. Typically, before I buy anything, I check to see if he has it in stock since everything is not on his website. His prices are competitive or better and I would much rather support an independent than a corperation. He has considerable knowledge and is willing to share this. More importantly he will tell you straight up if he doesnt know an answer rather than giving a song and dance sales line. Thats my two cents and I would spend it there if he had what I wanted.

Junkdude is a great tech, an honest salesman, and a good guy. You can do business with him with no reservations. He answered every dumb question I had about the sax I purchased from him and was patient and informative. If given the opportunity, I would buy the guy a beer.

Okay. Thanks. With any luck, I'll manage to talk my director around to buying it before Christmas. :D

I've had great dealings with Dave, and JUNKDUDE.com. I had my eye on a minty The Martin Tenor he had for sale awhile back, but wanted new pads and resonators before I would be willing to buy it. He put them in for free to please me, mind you he offered without any arm twisting involved!
While I wouldn't expect him to do that for every sale, it does show just how committed he is to pleasing the customer. The horn plays fantastic, and I couldn't be more happy with it, and JUNKDUDE. I heartily recommend Dave to one and all.

I've bought only minor things from him but I got the shipment super quick. In the past i was inquiring about several of his horns and he was patient and informative - though i ended up never purchasing a horn from him.

2 horns, exactly as advertised. He was even nice enough to let me dicker him down on one due to a damaged neck I would need to replace for a resto project. I'd happily deal with Dave again.

I've done a lot of business with Dave Hoskins (Junk Dude) -- purchased 3 horns from him, quite a few Morgan mouthpieces for all of my horns, FL ligatures, etc -- and I have nothing but PRAISE for Dave. He's gone out of his way numerous times to help me out. He's someone I can highly recommend to others without any reservation what-so-ever. It never fails that when one of my buddies contacts him for something he always cames back raving about how great Dave was in his service and helpfulness.

One more happy story about "Junkdude" - I bought my Hiscox case from him. It was easy, he was very helpful, answered lots of questions, and got the shipment out quickly after I paid. It arrived in perfect shape, and it works and fits exactly as he told me it would. There's no need to hesitate to do business with him.

Several posters have mentioned Dave's patience and helpfulness. Absolutely so. He is someone that you can be happy to spend your money with.

After a recent deal, I told him to add me to his list of SOTW fans. This is just to let all SOTW-ers know, too.

I rarely get to post about specific experience I've had with sax dealers because Wifepics won't let me buy another bari -- and I haven't had one since we've been married :(.

A couple years back I had the opportunity to talk with Dave regarding a really beat up, shot to heck green SML alto (I'm assuming it was silver at one point in its past).

He didn't accept my offer, but was a nice guy and was prompt about getting to me.

Considering I've glommed quite a few pics, I can say that his horns look like what they're advertised as. Remember that and the fact that the website is called "junkdude" and you should be fine: he's got some good horns that are restored and some good horns that are in sad shape, but he'll definitely say which are which.
