Just received a pearl silver Borgani alto with the silver neck. This is a great sounding horn! The ergonomics are new to me as I have played a Conn Transitional for several years, esp. the right hand position (like a Mark VI). The Bis key and front F are especially nice. It has such a solid core and the high notes are particularly full. It's a real pleasure to play.

Hello,

Did you also played the jubilee (130) alto model?
Is the neck sterling silver?

All my best!

Good luck finding a 130 to play. Roberto's Woodwind (U.S.) didn't have one to play. I ordered the pearl silver and asked for a silver neck. They were able to accomodate me. It sounds even better with the silver neck. I chose the 0.65 mm thickness. If I had to choose today, I think I would have picked the 0.70 thickness. Its a wonderful instrument.

Yes i know. I hoped you played one. The only person i know who have one is Branford Marsalis. His solid silver neck is 65mm (standard).
How does the silver neck change the sound? more open, warmer?
I think the silver neck is much more important than the silver bell.

Greetings!

More resonsive, more focused. Not warmer or brighter. More open perhaps, but I have been able to use a softer reed (2.5 Superial) without souding thin, easier to support. I think it was worth the additional cost.
