View Full Version : King 1893-1915 Tenor Nickel- How do I value it?

I have an old, really old, Tenor King. According to the serial numbers on the King website it dates back to between 1893-1915. It has been completely repadded and plays really sweet rich tones, good for smouchy tunes and because it's nickel it still looks good. The mechanics are not in a straight line down the sax so it's not particularly difficult to play but compared to my "old" Yamaha 32 which is fantastically funky, the King is slower to play.

I don't play the King any more and want to upgrade my Alto to a YAS62II and as I need money I want to sell the Tenor first and keep my YAS32 until I'm sure the new horn is better. I need to keep the alto also because I play 2-3 times a month and can't go without and alto.

My problem is I have no idea what the King could be worth and no idea how to get it valued.

Can anyone help?
