It's 3:45pm, been raining like hell all day, almost dark out, humidity about 175%, I'm sitting here drinking Jim Beam rocks and messing around with my C sopranos and guitar (I can almost play Amazing Grace single string), and I need a drummer for 3 Saturdays from now and no one is available. I feel like ick on a stick. Anyone got any possible plans of action?

More Jim Beam!

...forget the rocks.

In this humidity? It'd be suicide.

I have followed your orders up to that point, however. I have also elected to follow thru on a plan I've been flirting with, namely, to put 2 of the 3 C sops up for sale. (See the Equipment forum for details.)

Switch to Jack. AND, go without a drummer - with a competent rhythm section (and a band full of players who can keep time and add to the pulse), many drummers aren't missed. (I know, I know, heresy!!). The band I play in rarely uses a drummer and it swings nicely without the added clutter. DAVE

Ordinarily I'd agree. But this is for dancing. In a tent. Besides, I promised the client drums. Besides besides, I just like 'em. I called another drummer. We'll see.

To procure Jack, I'd have to go to the wine shop. Remember, it's raining out and I'm already 1/4 in the bag, so I'd be walking. It's about a mile. I think I'll just stay here and finish this pint of Jim.

Didn't you know. You can guy a "drummer in a box" now? :-) Program all your tunes into a drum machine/sequencer and that's one less person to split the money with.

Hear, hear - go Eastern . Switch to Yamaha and order a delivery of sake and terimasu from the local "deli".

...this pint of Jim.pint?

PINT ??!!

A real man would take that walk in the rain and bring a 1/2 gallon back
...and half of that would be empty by the time he got back home.

At that point, drummers or no drummers would be irrelevant
