I'm looking to see if anyone else owns this particular model and their experience with it. I've played Alto Sax for many years and decided to take up the Soprano six months ago. I bought this horn because it was a great value and at an intermediate level. Tone is tough with this model but buying a new Selmer mouth piece seemed to have helped a lot. Maybe I still need work on my chops but looking for any kind of experience some of you might have had with this horn would be appreciated.

Hi,

I have owned an instrument like that for some years. Maybe it have changed over the years, but anyway. I play it with a yani 8 mpc, and it have a really nice sound with that, but it is hard to play in tune, and it is not very well built. Now the hole thing start falling apart, and I will buy a new horn - which will not be a Jupiter 547.

FWIW.

I bought a used 547 as my first soprano and liked it pretty much. I always thought the tone was very good, in fact darker than alot of the bigger names and it took me awhile to find a professional model to replace it. Eventually I went with a Keilwerth.
I've heard people bash them as poorly made , but mine held up very well. I think maybe the older ones were poorly made.
Intonation was not good as my JK but not horrible either.
It's a decent cheaper horn I think.
BTW I played a Vandoran S15 on it & still do on the JK.
