Does anyone make an Eb soprano flute any more?

If you keep watching eBay under Artley you may see about 10 per year. They are not cheap.

Good ol' ebay...I found this Gemeinhardt Eb flute out there:

Also a raft of these hard-to-resist beauties:

Emerson may still make them.

Hey, those "Hard to resist beauties" look like some sort of simple system flute -- maybe a Meyer system or something. They are interesting, but might be a little disappointing if you wanted a Boehm flute.

I played an Emerson Eb flute at a local store. It was cute but I was unimpressed. Intonation and evenness of scale both seemed dicey. Not that I can claim to be an expert on how to handle this kind of horn.

The simple system "Eb flute" on eBay is actually most likely "in Db" in the traditional sense, i.e. the lowest note (written D) sounds like Eb. This type of nomenclature has been standard practice for Irish and simple system flutes, as far as I can tell by my research.
