I recently bought a new Jupiter 769-GL alto saxophone. I bought it from a different country and brought it back to the US to play. I was interested to find out more about it, so when I got back I tried researching it on the net and I didn't find out much about it. Is the Jupiter 769-GL much different than the Jupiter 767?

I did a bit of light research, and to be honest, the two don't look very different, :)

The 767 plays well (at least, I think it does), you'll like it.

Thanks Kareeser. I got it new for about $950 :D I got a tutor for the time I was out of the US, and he helped me to buy a new saxophone because my other one was really old. He told me that this one sounded and played better than other student model Yamaha saxophones and I knew that Yamaha saxophones were good. I wasn't planning on paying a lot for a professional model, so I bought this one. It does play much better than my old saxophone!

1st Alto: Just so you know, old saxophones are not bad saxophones. I have several from the 1920s and early '30's that will blow the socks off that Jupiter. DAVE

Well, the old saxophone I had was an asian saxophone that was low quality and was falling apart that I had bought for $150  , not a vintage saxophone like a Buescher or King

1st Alto: Fair enough. But you should define "really old" . . . I'm REALLY old. DAVE

That's getting into sensitive territory, Dave.

Rob: Agreed. It is all relative, I guess. DAVE
