I can get a 62 tenor closeout for $1800 as opposed to $2330 for a new 82Z. Yamaha is revising the new G1 neck due to seme intonation issue. This may affect the new tenor line of saxes.
I am struggling with what to choose between the two.
Any suggestions?

I have a silver plated(old model)62 tenor that I paid $2,900 for a couple of years ago and it's a very nice horn. If you can get a 62 for $1,800 and like the horn I'd go for it and save some $. I keep thinking I should've bought a silver 62 alto(old model) before they were all gone. Now I'm waiting on a silver 82Z alto.

There are still a few very good closeout deals on the old model year Yamahas. I recently got a new Custom 875B tenor from WWBW for $1999, although I decided to return it in favor of a JK I found locally.
