Double Major

How long would it take to complete a program of concurrent enrollment for a B.M. in Jazz Studies and a B.M.(E.) in Music Education in the following colleges:

University of North Texas
University of Miami
Indiana University
University of Michigan
University of Maryland

Also how well intergrated would this program be in the above listed. What other colleges would you recommend for such a double major? Thanks.

So no one knows anything about a dual degree at these schools? How about just about such a double major in general, does anyone here know anything about that? Or any information on the schools listed?

IM at Ohio state, and to do a double major you can do it in four years as long as you plan your classes correctly, elsewise you end up taking five years. Good luck on your degree, im not taking a double major, but I am majoring in music education!

Hey,

I'm at UNT right now. It really depends on how many creit hours you take. It's a good idea if you're a music major to take 12-15. Some people will take 18 or so, but this leaves very little time for practicing. As far as I know you're probably looking at 5, maybe 6 years. You could definitely do it in 4 years if you've done some AP tests and/or can CLEP out of stuff. 4 would also be possible if you did summers as well as the fall and spring semesters. In, fact, you could probably even do it in 3 or 3 and a half years by doing summer stuff, but you'd go crazy, cause you'd have almost no free time for all of that time.

As far as I know, you have your 'core' classes, which are mostly fresh/soph classes, after this, then there will probably be almost no overlap in classes.
