I am particularly interested in finding out if there are any music stores that carry lots of books for woodwinds. I know there's one in Sungei Wang, anywhere else?
Also, I am looking for places that sell those anti-tarnishing strips for silverware, are there such shops in KL?

As an Australian who has never left the country I am no expert on Kuala Lumpur, and I am sure that many other forum members are in the same boat (different countries however). I think that you might have more luck consulting directories which exist specifically to point out shops in Kuala Lumpur

Hey Tubbycub,
The shop you went to in Sungai Wang is Chambers Music, is it not? They're probably the only store around supplying the most books for any instrument. Another store, is Kinokuniya, in Suria KLCC. They have a variety of books for many instruments as well. Are you looking for anything specific?
Anti-tarnishing strip for silverware... that I can't help you! Ahahaha.. sorry.

Went to both this afternoon, not much luck. I was trying to get some James Galway flute studies but couldn't find what I was looking for. Maybe I should try again at the Winds Expo at Times Square this weekend :)

Urrrhhhh.... James Galway flute studies huh? If no luck there, I doubt you'll find any at the Wind Expo. I've been to similar Expos in KL by Yamaha. Nothing much, I can tell ya. And books will not be their main items, so they won't display much of stuff.
You're in town huh? Cool.. I'm heading up to Ipoh this weekend for a race, so I won't be around. If you're still in town next week, look me up or something. Can talk shop or just general meeting up la.
Later.

Sure thing, I will be leaving Malaysia next Saturday. However, I will be going to Penang this weekend and will be back somewhere middle of next week (probably wed or thur). It would certainly be cool to make some new friends. Just let me know when you are free.
Where do you play? I noticed that sax playing is getting quite popular in KL. So far I've already notice people playing at the Times Sq and Lot 10.
By the way, I am just an amateur weekend warrior and by no means a pro :)

Tubbycub,
I'll be pretty much free thru-out the week, no gigs. I'll be at home getting back on working on my horn and music, as I have been concentrating more on training the last 2 - 3 weeks for 2 running races I took part yesterday and last Sunday.
Email me at jcsax78@yahoo.com. Or buzz me at 012-2732378.
See ya.
