Hello all,

I appreciate all the help this site, and the players have given! I am fairly new to the alto, (1 year), and my new blues band will soon be gigging.

I have loads of experience in general, but the sax part is new. I will be playing 3-4 songs per set in a 4 set gig. Do you guys change reeds between sets? How much warm up is appropriate? Any other practical advice?

Also, I want to pick up my trombone again. This was my main instrument and I was pretty good, but I havn't played in years. Will this screw up my sax emboucher?

Thanks again for all musicians working together!

I forgot to mention that I don't have the opportunity to warm up "in the wings" as I am busy with lead vocals, keyboard, guitar and harmonica.

I'm sorry I dont have an answer for you, but I thought it interesting that there is someone else out there that started on a trombone and is now playing sax.

what I remember of my playing days, it didnt mess up my sax playing when I switched back and forth. But then again, I wasnt THAT good on the sax....

good luck with the gig

Peace
