I'm relatively new to the SOTW. My buddy and bandmate, shortwhite, turned me on to this board. Orginally from So Cal, I ended up at the University of North Texas where I earned my jazz performance degree. Now I'm here in Austin w/ my band that formed around UNT, Mingo Fishtrap www.mingofishtrap.com. If anyone is ever coming Austin, drop me a line. I'd love to show you around! dan@mingofishtrap.com. PEACE! pnuttbutta

Man, nobody's written here in over a year-- guess I should bring it back to life. Hey man, if you're in Mingo Fishtrap, then not only have I brushed shoulders with you a couple times during one of your New Orleans marches, I'm also a huuuuuuge fan. Mingo Fishtrap's my favorite Texas band (yes, even over Brave Combo, everyone else's favorite), and I'm about to move into a house right off Mingo street... not far from Fishtrap. I play in the 2 o'clock right now and if you're ever up in Denton with time to kill would love to play, drop me a line. HeavyWeather77@hotmail.com

Hi BD,
I'm one of the 2 guys in the band that wasn't at UNT. Make sure you come say hello next time you're at a Mingo gig. Let me know ahead of time and we'll try to get you on the guest list.
The other guys in the band made it a point to take me by the old Mingo Manor and we did stop and take some pix at the intersection of Mingo and Fishtrap.
Congratulations on the 2 O'clock. You must play well.
Thanx for supporting the band. The new cd will be out sometime this summer. We'll let you know.
Hope to see you soon,
GW

Shortwhite and Pnuttbutta,
I'll be out to see you in Fort Worth no doubt... I'll say hi if you're not too swamped with eager young women after the show. Shortwhite, I understand you're the bari/alto player, and man, I assumed you were a UNT grad because of your skills... proof that you don't need UNT to become a badass saxman in Texas. As for Pnuttbutta, I'm blown away every time I hear you play. I hope it's not too stalker-like for me to ask for some background on you two guys, you got me curious about your history with your personal playing and with the band. I'm looking to put some funk-jazz projects together and could use some advice. Look forward to seeing you tear the roof off the Ridglea.

I've recently made the move to Arlington, TX within the last 2 weeks and wanted to try and catch you guys at your show in Ft. Worth on the 26th. Can one of you drop me a line or post on here contact info.
Thanks!
