Hi, I'm playing flute (traverso) since 1982 and (yesterday) for four
weeks a tenor. And I love it, u know!!! :D

I'll play in a bigband, change the instruments is optional but I think
necessary while the gig...

My question: Is there anything to know about "easy and the right
way of changing"?

Today, while practising, I found it a bit confusing... the feeling after
some (instrument-)changes is about a new weakness and upcoming
problems...:?

Any experts here?
Tanks a lot.

Just practice changing. Eventually the brain programmes itself to change parameters for each instrument when you hands pick it up.

I got changes automatic between flute, clarinet and alto sax, but then when I got a soprano sax, my brain tried to do clarinet fingering, just because the soprano was held in front like a clarinet. But the reprogramming soon came right.

when i go from saxophone to flute i tend to get a really loose embouchure, probably from not practising enough. my flute tone's still ok, but it gets a bit tricky up top. my advice is just to practice lots and lots, the more you do the better you will be on both, and i don't think you shouldhave any great difficulties with fingering differences, with getting mixed up etc, saxophone and flute are different enough to notice which one you are playing, i hope! :P

Thanks a lot, I'm very glad about it's "just" a practising-thing...
And I don't have any probs to note which instrument I'm holding, my dears
