www.wwbw.com is competive as is www.prowinds.com.

woodwind and brasswind paris and australia are also both very price competitive.

www.saxforte.com has a nice selection and fair prices.

www.saxquest.com has a nice selection of used horns as well as some new horns that come with a setup from Randy Jones who is a very well respected tech. If I were buying a Selmer Reference I would look at buying from saxquest.

WWBW will probably have the widest range of saxes and accessories.

I have always felt that www.prowinds.com has given the best service and the best price available. The staff are EXTREMELY knowlegable with the saxophone and are not afraid to talk to you and answer any questions you may have. And the best thing is that they do not work on comission so they will not be trying to sell you a specific horn. I was amzed at their professionalism when I bought my Ref 54 Alto and my Selmer Series II Tenor from them. A+ all the way! Can't go wrong here.

Try www.saxophones.co.uk

They have very competitive pricing, they ship superfast including the states -you only have to read their email feedback - they also source items superquick too.

I wanted some accessories for my R&C curved sop they were out of stock and the items had to come from Italy. They rang Rampone & Cazzani and got them to bring the items to the world music fair in frankfurt where they were collected on my behalf!!

I had them in my hands before the week was out. - Thats service!!

Great bunch of people, ever helpful too.

woodwind and brasswind paris and australia are also both very price competitive.

Do you mean Brass and Woodwind in Melbourne? I was not aware of a WWBW in Australia.

Cheap for you? Or cheap for the dealer? That's the question.

Cheapest dealer, and not for you, by far and away, the all time winner is:

Buyer beware...

you do know that that's steve goodson's dealership right?

well, i won't disagree, his services are indeed VERY expensive, but then again, there is a reason for that. i won't go so far as to say that he is the best (he is one of the best though), but he sure is pretty damn good. different strokes for different folks i guess. it all depends on how much beating we're willing to let our wallets take.

oh yeah, one last bit.

hurling, you mentioned woodwind & brasswind paris and i'd just love it if you could provide some of your opinions on them. i chanced upon their website a couple of months back and was shocked at the kind of prices their saxes were going for. i mean, disregarding their mouthpieces which tend to cost more, their saxes are really cheap, even when compared with the next lowest price found in the US.

i was looking for a reference alto and naturally, i popped by music123/wwbw (they all seem to be affiliated, what with music123 and wwbw sharing the same address and wwbw and woodwind & brasswind paris sharing the same logo) to have a look-see just to get a general estimation of the prices. few stops later, i ended up at woodwind & brasswind paris with jaws agape, just staring blankly at the US$3100 (roughly translated from 2500 euros) price tag.

i certainly love a good bargain, but this is no bargain, this is like a freebie! i can't help but feel a little suspicious about the whole operation, and was hoping you'd be able to provide your insight on them.

WWBW are very good.

I didn't have any problem with them.

I'm in France, that's Ok, but didn't have any problem with them.

I got a defective Mouthpece from them ( I know I hurried a bit all the shop ) and they replaced/ refound me without discuss.

Shipping is quite fast, and prices as reasonable.

But I'm in France, so...
