I play ATB clarinets bassoon etc, and am moving. i have to return all of the school instruments (no bari bassoon tuba or bass clarinet) but still have to mover my Bb alto and tenor. any suggestions on how to pack them since we are flying, and i dont have actual flight cases and dont know how to pad them properly. if you could email me tbnsax@aol.com that would be great. i am not going to be on the forum for a couple days since we have to pack. thanks for your suggestions

Be very careful with that rare alto....
Go to the post office, home depot, ups store and get some sheets of bubble wrap for the inside of the cases and cork for the keys. If you have a music shop in the area perhaps they can advise you and/or show you how to use cork to keep the keeps from bouncing around

Check the cybersax website for packaging instructions. These are for horns that are being packaged to sell, but I used them when I moved overseas (both ways) and all horns survived unscathed.

thanks guy
didnt actually end up using bubble wrap. the movers had some time of wierd brown paper with a cloth like stuff on one side and they use it for packaging the dishes and stuff, i took a sheet of that and wrapped each horn up with it and the case was really tight. took em down and they played flawlessly. thanks for the help though

( when i said Bb alto tenor it was a Bb clarinet, sorry about that, the alto is an old vito) its the tenor i was worried about (clarinets a junk holton)
